Opel celebrates 50th anniversary of its test center in Dudenhofen

Formerly called Opel – “Prueffeld”, the company today celebrates its 50th anniversary of the test center in Dudenhofen. Until today, millions of Opel cars had to pass various tough tests on their way to large scale serial production. Through the years, the test facility was continuously extended and modernized. With the result, that it is now the largest and most modern Opel test center in Europe. The vehicles are detailed checked on test tracks and on roller test beds.
Since 2013 already, considerable construction activities like investments in extensions and modernizations for a first class test center take place on site.
Dr. Matthias Schollmaier, Director of the Test Center, announces further investments on the field of new test beds for powertrain systems. This goes along with the creation of new work stations for engineers.
