“General Engineering and Realisation of trend-setting Projects”, this was the topic of a symposium in Chemnitz organised by CADsys GmbH, AIC Ingenieurgesellschaft für Bauplanung Chemnitz GmbH, Hörmann Rawema Engineering & Consulting GmbH und Scholpp Montagetechnik GmbH – together partner in a huge Investment project between 2013 – 2015.
The organizers demonstrated vividly the professional collaboration, from providing IT solutions (CADsys), factory/basic engineering (Rawema), to General Engineering by AIC and the final installations of equipment and machinery (Scholpp).
The main topic of the presentations was the integrated engineering, from the final quotation to commissioning. Beside the so called simultaneous engineering as basic parameter for reducing project runtime in projects becoming more and more complex, AIC’s CEO, Thomas Voigtlaender, pointed out the importance of BIM – Building Information Modeling as state-of-the-art working method.
“With the adjustment of our working and engineering processes to this integrated 3D building information modeling, AIC achieved its targets and is persuading customers today with faster, more flexible and more efficient project management. We are working more cost efficient and by reducing internal and external interfaces, we cut drastically potential faults.”, says Mr. Voigtlaender. The company’s investment in soft- and hardware was significantly in the past, but based on a very motivated AIC Team, BIM was very fast implemented into the engineering process.
The Symposium was completed with a visit and a factory tour at Scholpp and networking opportunities for all participants.
