Construction Laboratory Building TC in Essen/ Germany
Evonik Industries is planning the construction of two new research & development centres: the first one
dedicated to new environmentally friendly additives and special binders for the varnish and paint industry, and the second
one for innovative and sustainable products for the cosmetics industry. The total investment for both building
complexes will be approx 31 mil Euros. More than 180 employees will be working there. 14.4 million Euros
thereof are estimated for the Innovation Center for paints and varnishes to be completed end of 2012.
The paint and varnish industry is an important market for the division Coatings & Additives. Circa 90
employees will search for new solutions and products in the 5,000m² building. Focus shall be on environment
and resource efficiency.
