New Construction Multi-generation house in Chemnitz, Buergelstrasse
The largest construction project of the Residential Building
Cooperative Chemnitz West (WCW) is the new construction on the plot Buergelstrasse 4-8 in Chemnitz.
With this project the WCW focuses on healthy and environmentally conscious habitation:
The new building with 31 flats and an underground car park will not only be developed as a up-to-date
low-energy-house, but already during construction pollutant-free building materials will be utilized.
Heating of the living space will be effected via a condensing boiler with solar-powered assistance.
The flats hold a special feature for families: all bedrooms and children's rooms are equipped with
electric circuits which can be switched off, so that a healthy and undisturbed sleep completely
without electric stress fields will be ensured.
The new building offers elder tenants and people with a physical handicap an easily accessible
habitation: transitions without barriers will be created and three lifts installed.
In total, the Residential Building Cooperative Chemnitz West (WCW) invests 3.5 million Euros in
this project. Completion of the new housing estate is planned for July 2009.
